I Love Being Me!

I Love Being Me! is an early school-age documentary style series that brings us into the worlds of children who are often seen as ‘other’ or ‘different’.

In each 11-minute episode, the children act as guides for our audience as we playfully explore the richness of language, culture, and diversity. They are fun, personal stories that will encourage the natural curiosity in all children, normalizing differences to celebrate the beautiful uniqueness of every child.

The Polka Dot Way

The Polka Dot Way – A Co-production initiative between Little Engine Moving Pictures and GAPC Entertainment, this feature-length documentary follows TVOKids from its early days of producing landmark, diverse, educational programming such as the Polka Dot Door, to building social-emotional bridges for Canadian children growing up from in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s to today! 50 years later, TVOkids programming continues to reflect and highlight the diverse lives of children throughout the country. The Polka Dot Way is a celebration of how one small, but vital network connected a population through innovative storytelling, earning a place in our homes and our hearts.

THE ARRANGED MARRIAGE

30 year old Arab-Canadian, Amara, finally agrees to an arranged marriage set up by her lovingly overbearing family, when she discovers the most eligible suitor is a closeted gay man. Basil and Amara decide to take advantage of their engagement to live their best lives away from their meddling families. Created by Maissa Houri-Charron!

THE WHISKERS

A preschool series about socio-emotional development that will feature real dogs as the characters. Each episode introduces a new word for a certain feeling— from familiar emotions such as anger, sadness, and kindness, to emotions that kids might have felt but don’t have a word for yet, such as shame, betrayal, and joy.

BIENVENUE!

THE WHALE FAMILY

Ever feel like you don’t quite “fit in”… like you’re caught between two different worlds? Well that’s Hannah, literally! Wrestled between the earth above ground and the water below, she just wants to blend in at her new “land” school, but that’s a little hard to do when your family is oh-so-whacky, you regularly go on adventures across the seven seas, and you live in a big blue whale named Blue! The Whale Family is an adventure/comedy/fantasy series for 6-11’s.

RU AT RED RIVER

Ru at Red River is about a group of young woodland creatures some of whom live with different visible and invisible disabilities. The series centres around Ru, a shy young raccoon with anxiety, and her friends Suki, Fergus, and Niko. Together the kids play, face new challenges, and navigate the world around them in their own individual ways. (Created by Celeste Koon).

Janinia Fialkowska - Notes in Time (working title)

Join us on this remarkable and continuing story of one of Canada’s, and the world’s, most renowned concert pianists. Janina’s breathtaking talent and unabashed determination saw her break through the traditional and often male-dominated world of classical music. Her journey has all the elements of a riveting story!
